Kurt Esser

Kurt Esser is a respected lawyer with experience throughout Australia and internationally. 

Prior to establishing Esser Legal in 2008, Kurt practiced as a barrister at the Victorian Bar where he specialised in commercial litigation and criminal law and worked as a solicitor for a major law firm in Sydney, Australia. He completed his legal education at the University of Melbourne and Cornell University, New York. While overseas, Kurt worked for a Wall Street law firm specialising in commercial law and private and public international law. 

Together with Julian Burnside KC and former Prime Minister Malcom Fraser, Kurt was the founding chair of Australia's first human rights campaign company, The Justice Project Inc, and continues to maintain an ongoing interest in all aspects of human rights and social justice. He is a media-trained public speaker and published writer who has the ability to simplify and explain the law in a way which is accessible to all. 

Outside his legal practice, Kurt devotes himself to a variety of equine sports and maintaining his small acreage farm in Balnarring.
